Words only, no racquet illustration required. These are the designs where the joke is the typography: three words stacked and ruled like a scoreboard, two words in an order that needs no explanation, a bottle label that declines to say what is in it. Typographic shirts are harder to get right than illustrated ones because there is nowhere to hide — the letterforms and the spacing carry it entirely. Each is set in a condensed grotesque or a slab serif chosen for that specific line, and printed large enough to read from the far side of a court without shouting.
