Affiliate Disclosure and Recommendation Policy

The short version

As of today, nothing on this site is an affiliate link. We have not been approved by any affiliate programme and we are not earning a commission on anything. Where an article names a piece of gear we do not sell, it is named as plain text with no link and no tracking, and the reason for the recommendation is stated beside it. This page exists so that if that ever changes, the change is already written down.

What an affiliate link is, and what it costs you

An affiliate link is a link to another shop that tells that shop we sent you. If you buy something, they pay us a small share of the sale. It never changes what you pay. It does not get you a worse price and it does not get you a better one.

The rule we care about most

We sell tennis and pickleball apparel. We will never put an affiliate link on a category we sell. Not a shirt, not a tank, not a hoodie, not a sticker. If you are reading about what to wear on a hot court, the shirt we recommend is ours, we say so plainly, and there is nothing hidden in that link.

The categories we will never affiliate-link, because we sell them, are: apparel, clothing, decal, hoodie, jersey, long-sleeve, longsleeve, pickleball-apparel, relaxed-tee, shirt, sticker, stickers, sweatshirt, t-shirt, tank, tank-top, tee, tennis-apparel, tshirt, womens-tee.

The only things we will ever affiliate-link are things that help on a hot court and that we do not sell: arm-sleeve, cap, cooler, cooling-neck-wrap, cooling-towel, cooling-vest, electrolyte, grip-enhancer, hat, headband, headwear, insulated-bottle, lip-balm-spf, overgrip, shade-umbrella, sock, socks, sun-sleeve, sunscreen, towel, visor, water-bottle.

That list is not a promise we are asking you to take on trust. It lives in a configuration file the site reads before it renders anything, and the code refuses to build a link for a category that is not on it. There is no override.

Where the disclosure appears

Not here. Or rather, not only here. When a block on this site contains affiliate links, the disclosure is printed inside that block, above the first link, on the same screen — so you read it before you have the chance to click anything. It is not in a footer, it is not behind a link, and it cannot be switched off separately from the links. That is what the FTC asks for and it is also just the decent way to do it.

We have not tested this gear

We do not own most of the gear we mention and we have not run it through anything. You will not find a score out of ten on this site, a count of reviews, or a claim that we put twelve of these through their paces, because none of that would be true. What you get instead is the stated reason a recommendation is defensible — a published specification, or plain physical reasoning about a hot court — printed next to the recommendation so you can disagree with it.

Nobody pays us to name a specific brand. If that ever changes it will be written on this page before it is written anywhere else.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets cookies. Some are ours and keep your cart and your session working, and those cannot be switched off without breaking the shop. The rest fall into three groups: analytics, which tells us which pages people actually read; advertising, which lets us see whether an ad led to an order; and session recording, which shows us where a page is confusing. You can refuse all three through the consent banner, and refusing them does not change what you pay or what you can buy.

The banner keeps the current, itemised list of every cookie this site sets, who sets it and how long it lasts. We point you at that rather than reprinting a list here, because a list typed onto a page goes out of date the first time we add or remove a service, and a stale list is worse than none.

If we are ever approved for an affiliate programme, one more cookie joins that list: the merchant sets it when you click an affiliate link, so they know the visit came from us. It records the referral, not you. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal information generally.

Who we are and how to reach us

Court Sportswear is a small print-on-demand apparel shop run out of Austin, Texas by someone who plays USTA league tennis. Free US shipping on orders over $50, $4.90 flat below that. We ship to the United States only. Orders take 3-5 business days in production and 5-7 business days in transit, so 8-12 business days in total. Returns are for manufacturing defect or transit damage only, reported within 7 days of receiving the order. No change-of-mind or wrong-size returns.
