What is NTRP?
NTRP stands for the National Tennis Rating Program, the USTA's system for rating players from 1.0 to 7.0 in 0.5 increments so players of similar ability can be matched in leagues and tournaments.

It's an estimate based on how you rate your own game, not an official rating. Your true level shows up in match play, so treat this as a helpful starting point for finding the right level to play.
How do I get an official NTRP rating?
You can self-rate through your USTA account when you join a league, or earn a computer (dynamic) NTRP rating that the USTA calculates from your USTA league and tournament match results.
What NTRP level should I play?
Play the level that matches your honest self-assessment and your match results. Many new adult league players start around 2.5 to 3.0, consistent rally players are often 3.5, and players with reliable serves, net skills, and tactics are 4.0 and up.
