The One-Hander

The one-handed backhand is functionally extinct at club level and the people who kept it are the loudest minority in the sport. It is worse on the return, worse above the shoulder, and none of that has ever persuaded anybody to change. These designs are for that stubbornness and the style that goes with it: seventies serve mechanics, serve-and-volley that stopped being viable two decades ago, the pilsner that is unbothered by what the craft crowd thinks and takes the same position about your backhand.
